I Would Have Hidden Under the Couch, But I Don't Have One! - J. M. DeLorenzo and Spencer Kelly Lanyi

Price: $14.00

Two classmates communicate by letters long after they have finished school, 6 x 9, 184 pages

Frances Spencer (Spennie) Kelly and Jo De Lorenzo, friends since kindergarten and classmates from ages 6 to 16, grow up in Flint, Michigan. One becomes an artist and the other a journalist. Over the span of 23 years, they rarely see each other but communicate through airmail letters from across the globe – from Flint, Michigan, to Argentina, Brooklyn, Calcutta, New York City, Ireland, Colorado, Rhode Island, Lower Wormhill Farm in England and a Carmelite Monastery in Wales. When they begin their long-distance correspondence, Spennie and Jo cannot foresee the dramatic surprises the future holds, but share the adventures in letters, which, like brushstrokes on a canvas, paint a portrait of an inspirational friendship and a spiritual journey. The book flows organically from letter to letter, beginning in 1963 when both are freshmen in college - Spennie at Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and Jo at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York.
